Sharing a province does not make these two ports close. Coron is off the northern tip of Palawan's main island and Puerto Princesa is on that island's east coast, 297 km apart on the map, so the sailing takes as long as the one from Coron to Manila. Leaving at 09:30, the ship spends the whole day at sea and docks at 22:30; arrange a bed in Puerto Princesa before boarding instead of hunting for one late at night. The northbound sailing leaves Puerto Princesa before dawn.
