The crossings that run most often

Frequency is the honest measure of a route on a lifeline network. These are the busiest in each country — the ones with a boat waiting most days.

Lagos routes and ports

Four steps

Planning a crossing

From two port names to a boarding gate, without a booking funnel in between.

  1. 1

    Pick your ports

Choose where you are leaving from and where you are heading. Only ports with a real crossing between them are offered.

  2. 2

    Check the times

Every sailing on the route, with the days it runs, the operator and the vessel — as they publish it.

  3. 3

    Compare operators

Several lines often work the same water at different speeds and fares. See them side by side before you commit.

  4. 4

    Book with the line

We link straight to the operator. No booking funnel, no markup, no account to create here.

Before you sail

Common questions

Do you sell ferry tickets?
No. We publish schedules and link straight to the operator's own booking page. There is no markup, no booking fee and no account to create here.
How current are these sailing times?
Times come from the operators' published timetables and are checked against them. Timetables change with the season in every country here, and sailings are suspended in heavy weather, so always confirm with the operator before you travel.
Why does a route show no times?
Some operators sell only at the pier and never publish a timetable. The route is listed because the crossing exists, but there is nothing reliable to show until they publish it.
What happens when the weather turns?
In the Philippines the coast guard suspends sailings when a storm signal is raised, usually at a few hours' notice. In British Columbia and Washington, high winds, fog and low tides cancel or delay sailings, and the operators post it on their own service-notice pages. No published timetable survives either, so check the operator on the day.
