Dumaguete is an hour away, but the only boat from Oslob does not leave until 22:00, landing in the Negros Oriental capital at 23:00. The late hour suits people finishing a day in southern Cebu rather than starting one; the sailing in the opposite direction leaves Dumaguete earlier in the evening (Dumaguete to Oslob).

Lite Ferries is a roll-on/roll-off company, which matters to anyone with a vehicle. Anyone who needs to cross earlier can go 18 km to Lilo-an, near the southern tip of Cebu, where Maayo Shipping's barges cross to Sibulan, just north of Dumaguete, from 04:30 until late evening (Lilo-an to Sibulan).
