About this crossing

This boat lands at Crofton, on the Vancouver Island shore a short drive from Duncan and the Trans-Canada Highway. Neither end suits leaving a car for long: free parking at Vesuvius Bay is scarce and capped at 24 hours, and Crofton has only limited free spaces nearby. BC Transit buses call at both terminals. No bookings are taken, and at Vesuvius check-in closes three minutes before departure for foot passengers and five for drivers. BC school students aged 18 or under ride free here when travelling between home and school, one of the commuter crossings where BC Ferries offers that concession.
