About this crossing

Border formalities come at both ends of this sailing. US immigration processes everyone at the Victoria terminal before boarding, and once that starts drivers and their passengers must stay inside the terminal compound; after landing in Port Angeles there is a further US Customs check. Visa Waiver travellers need an approved ESTA before reaching the Victoria terminal, and dogs entering the US need the CDC Dog Import Form, a microchip and to be at least six months old. Vehicles check in at the ticket window at the end of Oswego Street. The ship is also withdrawn for several weeks of maintenance early each year, which our Coho guide covers.
