About this crossing
Occidental Mindoro's own sea road to Luzon starts here. Abra de Ilog is on the north coast of the island's western province, so people from that side can cross the Verde Island Passage to Batangas without going through Calapan on the far side of Mindoro. Montenegro spreads its six departures around the clock instead of bunching them in daylight, with one at 23:30 and another at 03:00. Gaps between boats run from two and a half to five and a half hours, the longest in the evening, so missing a boat can cost several hours. For more choice, the Calapan crossing on the east coast runs far more often. The return timetable keeps similar hours with one boat fewer.
