About this crossing
Between Panay and Cebu lies Negros, and this Cokaliong ship goes round it overnight, leaving at 19:00 and docking in Cebu City at 07:00. By day, the same trip can be pieced together from three shorter legs: a fast ferry to Bacolod, the road across Negros to San Carlos, and the San Carlos to Toledo crossing to Cebu's west coast, with Cebu City still a drive away over the island. On board, the lower fare steps are small: a cabin costs ₱2,520 against ₱1,960 in economy, and only the suite for two, at ₱5,600 a room, is a big jump. Two ships take turns on the run, and the lobby, seated-lounge and four-person suite fares apply only when MV Filipinas Surigao del Norte is sailing. The return from Cebu keeps the same hours.
