About this crossing
Drivers heading from Negros Oriental to Cebu have no shorter sea leg in the timetable than this twenty-five-minute run over the Tañon Strait, from Sibulan, just north of Dumaguete, to Lilo-an in Santander at Cebu's southern tip. The fare table lists ₱1,320 for a car and ₱130 for a foot passenger. Maayo's boats leave every three hours from 06:00 to 18:00, with one earlier at 04:30 and three more in the evening at 90-minute steps, the last at 22:30, and the return from Lilo-an keeps the same times. This Lilo-an is in Cebu; the Southern Leyte port called Liloan is a different place on another island. From Santander the road runs north along Cebu's east coast. For its other Negros crossing, from Tampi to Bato, Maayo has no current timetable out.
