About the terminal
Lapu-Lapu sits on Mactan, the island that holds Cebu's airport and its resort strip, and the ferry across to the city takes 30 minutes — 31 sailings a week between 06:00 and 21:00.
The city is named after the chief who killed Ferdinand Magellan on this shore on 27 April 1521, ending the first circumnavigation before it was finished. A shrine marks the spot on the eastern side of the island.
Metro Ferry operates the crossing on a single daily calendar. Nothing runs overnight: the last boat is at nine in the evening, after which the bridges are the only way across the channel — which for anyone arriving on a late flight is the practical detail that matters.
