About this crossing
By day the trip to Dumaguete involves a change of boat in Bohol; by night it is a stop on a ship bound for Mindanao. OceanJet's 08:20 is a connection, a fast craft to Tagbilaran followed by a second vessel on to Dumaguete, arriving at 12:40. Cokaliong's 20:00 is the Dapitan ship, which puts Dumaguete passengers ashore at 02:00 before continuing south.
The price gap between them is wide: ₱1,870 for OceanJet's tourist class against ₱480 for economy with Cokaliong. Travellers willing to cover part of the distance by road have a third option, south through Cebu island to Oslob or to Lilo-an in Santander, where short crossings reach the Negros Oriental coast in an hour or less.
