About FastCat
Twin hulls set FastCat apart. Its ships are catamaran RoRo ferries, and the operating company, Archipelago Philippine Ferries Corporation, says it brought the type to the Philippines and is still the only line running it. They load passengers and anything on wheels, and the vehicle tariff climbs from bicycles and tricycles to buses, container lorries and heavy plant.
The routes are short sea links on the nautical highway, timetabled between 60 and 240 minutes, and every one runs daily: Matnog at the southern tip of Luzon to Allen (Dapdap) on Samar, Batangas to Calapan, Bulalacao to Caticlan, Dumangas to Bacolod (Banago), San Carlos to Toledo, Cebu to Tubigon, Dumaguete to Dapitan, Maasin to Surigao, and Zamboanga to Isabela on Basilan. Cebu to Tubigon, Dumaguete to Dapitan and Dumangas to Bacolod have four departures a day each way, San Carlos to Toledo and Zamboanga to Isabela three, and Maasin to Surigao one.
The company also runs several terminals itself, among them Dapdap and Allen in Northern Samar and Liloan in Southern Leyte, though its current timetable has no sailing from Liloan. Its fares list prices seats in Business, Premium Economy and Economy.
